The City of Seoul established the Seoul Smart City Prize to share its vision of a people-oriented, inclusive smart city and cooperate with the world in digitally connecting each other and integrating them as one.
Launch of Korean Urban Air Mobility (K-UAM) Demonstration

Bernice Van Bronkhorst, a Dutch national, is the Global Director for Urban, Resilience and Land Global PracticeGPURL. In her current role, she provides leadership and guidance to the work of the Urban, Resilience and Land Global Practice; oversees the implementation of the Bank’s Urban, Resilience and Land Strategy; and provides leadership to the global urban agenda.
Choi, Narae is a Senior Urban Development Specialist for the GPURL. Ms. Choi leads the Global Smart City Partnership ProgramGSCP as well as the advisory services and analytics on Inclusive Cities in GPURL. She joined the World Bank.
Abstract :
This paper presents GSCP’s engagements with developing countries in defining, planning for, and realizing their smart city goals. Using several successful engagement cases, the paper demonstrates how both high-level strategies and specific solutions can contribute to the aspirations of developing cities and draws lessons for better supporting them, mainly by strengthening the link between upstream and downstream engagements.
